Who is WTI?
Wti was formed in 1979 and introduced the concept of "all electronic" web guides to the North American marketplace. Presently, WTI has over 7000 systems in operation worldwide in all types of applications.
Why do I need a web guide?
A web guide will maintain the accuracy of your substrate into your manufacturing process, increasing production and reducing waste.
Why is an electronic system better than a pneumatic/hydraulic system?
Electronic system monitors and corrects edge position 4 times faster than pneumatic systems. Accuracy improves from ±015" to ±003" or better. Maintenance decreases in the absence of fluids, filters, etc. Ask for our justification sheet.
What maintenance is required for a WTI electronic system?
Grease the ball screw bi-annually and occasionally clean the sensor lens (varies depending on the process environment).
What types of guiding equipment can WTI provide?
There are 3 types: Positive Displacement Guide (PDG), Steering Roller Guide (SRG) and Shifting Stand (Unwind and Rewind).
Where should the equipment be mounted?
As close to the process, needing the most accuracy, as possible.
How should the equipment be mounted?
PDG's can be mounted in nearly every available space envelope, as long as the standard guiding principles are followed.
What type of accuracy can I expect?
Depending on the application and requirements, accuracies of ±.003" are easily maintained. For less demanding applications, less expensive systems are available.
Who does the installation?
Generally, the customer does the installation. WTI provides exact installation drawings. These drawings are provided prior to fabrication and define all installation parameters.
What type of service or support is available?
In addition to your local representative, WTI has an on-site technical staff to assist you. WTI maintains full parts availability for immediate shipment in downtime situations.
