Accessories for electroplating equipment

Precision Process designs and builds electrical contacts, air knives and other accessories for electroplating equipment.

Custom contacts for reel-to-reel electroplating lines

Precision Process designs and builds electrical custom contacts for reel-to-reel (R2R) electroplating lines.

Drawing on its experience in finishing systems design, the Precision Process engineering and design teams tackle the most challenging reel-to-reel contact requirements:

  • Complex part geometry
  • High current density
  • Interchangeability with other contact designs

Air knives for machining centers worldwide

Precision Process Inc. air knives reduce drag out and contamination in continuous processes. Precision Process designs air knives to be product specific with quick interchange capabilities.

Air knives offered at Precision Process:

  • Multiple tapered slot air knife configuration
  • Wall mounted air knives
  • Funnel air knives
  • Offset air knives
  • Air knives with pneumatically adjustable nozzles for high impingement applications

Compressed air knife

Precision Process’s reel-to-reel and roll-to-roll (R2R) electroplating systems offer a unique air blow-off to remove moisture from the parts. Each assembly features 2 to 5 air nozzles, with machined ports to direct air flow to the strip material. As a standard, Precision Process installs an air wipe after each process station in the electroplating system to reduce dragout.

Features of compressed air knife

  • "Venturi effect" for more efficiency - less air use
  • Little or no drag-over of solution, reducing waste treatment costs
  • When used in conjunction with PSI’s unique three-stage rinsing system, provides zero discharge
  • Two-five nozzle configuration
  • Clear acrylic or polyethylene material option

Low pressure air knives

Precision Process offers a variety of low pressure air knifes including fan-type air nozzles, fixed perforated systems, and slotted air knives.

When product size (strip height) remains relatively constant, Precision Process recommends hard-plumbed or fixed-type systems. With these systems, a slight adjustment of the blow-off angle is available. When product sizes vary, Precision Process offers adjustable nozzles either hard plumbed or configured with loc-line piping.
