Side Arm Hoist

PSI’s side arm style hoists are available in load capacities ranging from 100 to 650 pounds. Hoist booms are constructed of heavy gauge stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance. Large capacity hoists feature complete stainless steel body construction, while small capacity units may be power coated steel, depending upon customer preference. These units are designed for the most stringent environments.

Side arm hoists ride on a rail system located behind the process tanks.  Typically, a frame assembly (available in stainless steel or epoxy-coated steel) is fabricated in an L-shaped format, where the tanks sit on the bottom of the "L", and the hoist rides on the vertical section.  Frames can also be constructed without the supports
under the tanks.

Hoists are available as fully automatic, controlled by a PC with PSI’s proprietary Automotion 8000NT program. This program was specifically developed to harness the full power of Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT. PLC controls with graphical interface packages (Interact, Wonderware) are also available.

For less sophisticated applications, manual remote controls are available, mounted to either the hoist itself, to a remote console, or through a remote radio transmitter.
Depending upon the control method, the positioning system can be either an optical encoder (automatics), photo switches (semi-auto), or visual only (manual systems).
