Rim
Hoist
Rim style hoists are available in load
capacities up to 250 pounds. Hoist lift and body assemblies may
are available in heavy gauge
stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance, or in powder
coated steel. Hoists are available as fully automatic, controlled
by a PC with PSI’s proprietary Automotion 8000NT program.
This program was specifically developed to harness the full power
of Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT. PLC controls with graphical interface
packages (Interact, Wonderware) are also available.
For less sophisticated applications, manual remote controls are
available, mounted to either the hoist itself, to a remote console,
or through a remote radio transmitter.
Depending upon the control method, the positioning system can
be either an optical encoder (automatics), photo switches (semi-auto),
or visual only (manual systems).

Rim style hoists ride on a rail system located at both the front and rear of
the tanks. Guide rails are located outside of the tanks’ work envelope,
reducing the possibility of particulate contamination in the tanks. A simple
L-shaped support structure (available in stainless steel or epoxy-coated
steel) is used to support the rear rail assembly and process tanks.
